WINNERS FOR THE MARCH READING CHALLENGE!!!!!
Prizes included t-shirts, books, coupons from different stores etc.
We have just wrapped up an exciting March and April with the March Reading Challenge (see above) Students were given a Congratulations breakfast by our principal Cheryl Mc-Daniel Thomas and librarian, Katheryn Chasse for their work on their reading. Some students and adult participants were even able to read 3,000-4,000 minutes to exceed their goals!! Bravo to EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED!!
The next big event is SPRING INTO READING, our 2nd annual spring bookfair with Village Square Booksellers. The dates are Monday - Friday May 19- 23 and Thursday eve., May 22nd. Times are daily at 7:30-4:00 and Thursday eve. @ 6:00-8:00. Books are chosen from WISHLISTS generated from the students and favorite paperbacks and books for teens and tweens.
Other news!!! Our Dorothy Canfield Reading Group will be on FACT TV in Bellows Falls Thursday, May 15 to discuss reviews on books they have read. and to show the DCF BOOK that won this year of '07-08. Hope you are enjopying the 8th grade newsletter and happening events @ BFMS!!
5/29 A raffle for the bookfair resulted in many happy students, receiving books, bags and t-shirts as prizes. Thank you to all parents, students and teachers who supported us in this endeavor..
