The BFMS Educational Support System has grown for 2008-09. We have teachers available to provide support in Reading and Math for any student though Title I, after school programs have been increased through the 21st Century grant program, and a new special education program has been implemented.
Homework Club procedures have been revised to better focus student's time.
Our Education Support Team serves as a forum to review a student whose needs may go beyond the resources of the classroom teacher. Please call Mr. Clark for more information.

Our School Based Clinician is provided by HealthCare and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS). The clinician provides counseling services to individual students, groups, and families to support success when there are challenges. Some other services that HCRS can provide are psychiatric services, intensive family based services, respite, case management, and a summer camp program.
The Student Assistance Program Counselor is a member of Youth Services. (more info to follow)

There are several very good on-line resources for exploring careers based your own interests. Last year we learned about StartWhereYouAreVT and began to review this with some students. For the past two years we have introduced VTGuidance Central to our 8th graders. These are public sites which are provided through VSAC.
Our Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) counselor is Natalie Brennan. Natalie meets with select VSAC groups monthly in grades 7 & 8. On September 16th our 7th grade met Natalie to learn more about the groups and recieve application material. Those who choose to apply should get their applications in as soon as possible. |
