Weekly Update

06-19-10

7th Grade:
You will be given one of the following books to read over the summer:  Soldier’s Heart by Gary Paulsen or Behind Rebel Lines by Seymour Reit.  Both books take place during the Civil War which we will be studying in Social Studies next year.

As you read you will need to complete two T-charts.
1. Fact, Fiction, Not Sure: Make a list of all the things in the book you think are fact (actually happened), fiction (did not happen), and not sure (you don't know).  Please include the page number for each item on the list.
2. Me, Too!  Not Me:  Make a list of all the things in the book that are familiar to you (still exist today in modern times).  Make a list of all the things that are unfamiliar to you (do not exist in modern times).  Please include the page number for each item on the list.

8th Grade:
Next years 8th grade students do not have a Social Studies summer reading assignment.  Last summer they were assigned Soldier's Heart or Behind Rebel Lines.

They do have a summer reading assignment for Mr. Aquadro.

HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!!!

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your support,
Sean Gould
