Dear Parent or Guardian:
The Level 1 Chorus and the Level 2 Chorus will be attending a performance of the opera, “The Magic Flute” by Mozart at the Weston Playhouse in Weston, VT, on Tuesday, January 11, at 9:15 A.M. The Opera Theatre of Weston is a non-profit organization devoted to bringing quality opera performances to school children and family audiences throughout southern Vermont. Mozart’s opera is the story of a young Prince and Princess and a bird catcher who search for happiness in the spirit world. The Prince’s magic flute guides and protects them along the way. This is one of Mozart’s most famous operas.
The cost of attending this opera is $8.00 per student. Please return the bottom portion of this letter along with the $8.00 to me by October 1. Checks should be made out to Bellows Falls Middle School. If this is a financial hardship for you, please indicate when you would be able to pay; and if you would like to attend as a chaperone, please include payment for yourself (there are a limited number of seats).
Attendance at this opera will help to meet the Vermont Grade Level Expectation that “students respond constructively as members of an audience.”
