Dear Parents,
Enclosed you will find important information for the start of school! Just a reminder that the first day of school will be the 1st of September. Students will arrive between 7:30 and 8:00, look for their room number on grade lists posted on the walls, and go directly to their rooms, where breakfast will be served at no charge for all students. Students will receive some day one information, and then go to the auditorium for a welcome. School starts at 8 this year, and ends at 2:45.
New this year: a welcome back picnic for students and their families. We have gotten permission to close School Street in front of the school on Thursday, August 27, from 5 to 7. We will have grills and provide hot dogs and hamburgers. Families should bring items to share. Grade 5 and 7 should bring desserts; grade 6 bring drinks; and grade 8 should bring salads. We hope you can join us! This will be an opportunity to meet Dianne Ellis, our new assistant principal, as well as other new staff.
We will be opening school with four days of activities designed to build relationships, both between students, and between students and their teachers. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be team building activities at BFMS, and Friday we’ll go to Rockingham Recreation Department for day long activities. Students will be walking up and back with their teachers. Please plan to send your student in with a towel, bathing suit and sunscreen. Students wishing to have a lunch from the cafeteria will need to order on the enclosed permission form, or they may bring a lunch from home. We will have some coolers available. Please fill out the enclosed permission slip and have your child bring it on the first day of school.
Picture day will be Tuesday, September 8. Watch for the forms to come home!
